We have a couple of fundraisers going right now, and we sure could use a little help! One is for our dogs, we need to treat them all for fleas/ticks, and it would be wonderful if we could get enough Advantage II to stock up! Pets Add Life and Petfinder have partnered together to help more pets find homes, and are hosting this wonderful contest! This contest is open to all rescues and shelters that are on PetFinder! Grand Prize is $25,000! Second Place is $15,000. Third place is $10,000! We hope that you will support Rikki’s Refuge every day! 

We had a blast at the Golden Living Fall Fest yesterday, at the Golden Living Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia! Thank you Amy Griffin for heading up the event for us and all volunteers who helped! We got to meet a lot of nice people. These free family-friendly local events are so wonderful.  Below are photos of Opie, Sammy the Goat and Duke representing Rikki’s Refuge in grand form!

The official word is out! Rikki’s Refuge won the State of Virginia part of the Summer Fun SHELTER CHALLENGE! Because of YOU, we won $1000!  WOW! Thank you for your daily voting and sharing, it matters! 

Here is some of the new stuff in the store! We have a HUGE selection of dog clothes and costumes! And we’ve set up a Clearance Rack that we will keep filled and continually mark down the prices! An aquarium; and 3 paintings (only 1 shown) by local Fredericksburg Artist Bob Worthy; some “vintage” board games; lots more art work; a full rack of Christmas ornaments, and tables full, too! And a desk; and the organ is still here. I’ve marked it down to $100. And look at the lovely black and white chair! The design on the fabric is chandeliers. It’s in perfect condition! And an end table with storage; and 3 swivel bar chairs; a couple of med/large dog crates; a folding sewing table; the pinball machine has new locks and is ready for sale! (and you can put in a quarter to play it, if you are not interested in purchasing it!); an old Look magazine; a gorgeous gold cuff bracelet, and a pair of Campers shoes! This is just a small sample of the new items that we have put out in the last few days!
