Callie recently joined the gang here at Rikki’s in the Assisted section of the 9th Life Retirement, Assisted Living and Psychiatric Center. Callie is a Manx kitty.

The results of our first photo shoot together:

Doesn't that look all sweet and cuddly?   But believe me, it wasn't just sit down and snap.  Do you have any idea how long I had to coach her on how to look so precious and needy and cuddly and cute?  How to express “I love you, thank you for saving my life!” and “Please send food for me and my friends!” at the same time!  It’s taken me years to learn how to be so photogenic.

First we had to get dressed. What a pain!  I am so glad I don't have to get dressed up every day! Thank you god for giving me fur.  Callie was a little freaked since this was her first time.  Come on kid, let's hurry up and get this done right so I can go get something to eat.

OH COME ON, NOT THE DEVIL THEME THING! I don't want to wear horns, I'm not a goat, I'm a sweet innocent guy, give me a break!  Why don’t I get angel wings?

AHHHH --  HELP -- YOU’RE CHOKING ME !!!
Help! Help! Help!  They're going to strangle me! Save me!  Ahhhhhh.  I'm choking, I need something to drink, get me some cream! NOW!  Help!  Get this suit off me while I drink.

Ok, Ok, I’ll cooperate, I’ll hold still while you dress me up in that ridiculous outfit.  Why ME, why don’t you get a DOG for something like this?  Ok, Ok, I'll be good, I promise, put that thing away!  What? Part of my get up?  Ohhhhh!  I see, I get to use the pitchfork!  Now you're talking!  It's okay Callie, calm down, just look cute for a few minutes and we’ll be all done.  They'll feel sorry for us and give us a special treat!  Oh, my stomach’s growling.

Will you just please stay in your costume and look cute? You don’t look any dumber than I do.  Come on and cooperate, Callie, let's get it over with.  When we're done, we’ll get fed.  They feel so guilty about doing this to us we’ll get two cans of fancy feast each!!!  Don't blow it, come on, get with the program, kid.  My stomach’s growling.

ALRIGHT!  We're ready to trick otr treat. I think this is the perfect shot!  Can we stop now?  I need something to eat!  NOW!  I'm hungry!  I'm exhausted after all this work!  How can you possibly expect me to keep working without some nourishment? FOOOODDDD……


I AM REALLY GETTING ABOUT SICK OF THIS .....




Utter and total humiliation is the price I have to pay for a decent meal around here.  This is inexcusable.  I'm going to call my union!  I demand living wages!  Two cans of fancy feast an hour!


I think I'll be a unicorn. After all, you think I'm so great and wonderful, why can't I be a magical unicorn instead of a devil?
