Re-Tail, a thrift and resale store, opened in early January! It is located at 3503 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, Va., 22408. Monies raised will help support the animals of Rikki’s Refuge, as well as other animal groups in our area!
Volunteers are always needed! We need plenty of people to help keep the store running, so this is a perfect opportunity to help the animals in our community! If you know a little something about clothes, crafts, books, glassware, china, antiques, etc., then we would love to have you on board! Rikki’s Is Steppin’ Out!
Can’t come to the Refuge? Well we are bringing a piece of it to you!
We will have display and information tables with goodies at the following events this month. Want to be on the inside of the table? At the National Capital Cat Show Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8 at the Dulles Expo Center. More than just a competition, rescue groups like Rikki’s have booths for adoption and to purchase goodies to benefit the rescues.
At the Fredericksburg Pet Show Saturday and Sunday September 21 and 22 at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. This family friendly, pet welcome event brings together pet people and hobbyists, clubs, animal rescue organizations, veterinarians and everything in between. Lots of vendors, demonstrators and education!
And delicious, delectable Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival will be our outing for Saturday September 28. Cooking demos, music, entertainment and FOOD FOOD FOOD!
Full Moon Walk
Saturday, August 24 – weather permitting
Come join us for a stroll through the Refuge under the silvery light of the full moon. Get to know the critters in their down time as they snuggle, relax, and contemplate the cosmos. All participants must have a completed release and indemnity form. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance. It’s Black Cat Appreciation Day!
Okay, today is the day — August 17th is Black Cat Appreciation Day!
In honor of our beloved black cats we prepared a Kindle book — unfortunately, Amazon is not playing nicely with us and the book has not gone live yet.
So we have turned our Kindle book into a PDF that you can download — we’ll let you know when the actual book goes live.
