NOTICE — our phone service changed from one provider to another recently. We now have the new service up and running. There was a period that we did not have access voice mail. If you left a message earlier this month and did not get a call back, please call again. I’m sorry for any inconvenience.

We are in the middle of changing phone services. The old service has been disconnected. The new should be up within a day or two. Same number 540-854-0870. During this time there is no voice mail either. You’ll just get a message that service has been disconnected. When it’s on with the new provider, I don’t know what it will say !!! We’ll get it set up with a Rikki’s message as soon as we can. In the meantime, you can email us at mail@RikkisRefuge.org or message on facebook. I’m sorry for any inconvenience. It will save the cost of a couple cases of food each month!! So that is good news !

Rikki’s Refuge will be closed today, Saturday June 27. We must cancel Donation Drop Off & Visit The Animals Today. It’s rained and rained and rained all night so our grass will grow nice and green!!! And it’s raining MORE today. It’s soooo MUDDY and wet that it’s just not safe for two legged creatures like YOU hoomans to walk around. We’re so sorry we’re gonna miss you today, but due to the weather we must CLOSE THE REFUGE TODAY.

We will be open for you on July 4th from noon till 1 pm, and also on July 25th.

At Rikki’s Refuge we’ll do the hugging,

if you’ll help us with the feeding !!! With over 500 kitties to hug today … we need YOUR help paying for all that food !!! Every dollar helps the kitties today!! When we buy in bulk we can get a case for $8.99 … big savings over individual purchases on chewy, amazon and the grocery store. Can YOU spare a buck or two or even $8.99 for a case today? If we can raise $899 it will buy a FULL pallet for the kitties !!! PS … YOU help with the feeding and we’ll even clean the litterboxes today too !!! Rikki’s Refuge Day of Remembrance Monday, May 25th • Noon to 2 PM

Join us at Rikki’s Refuge as we open our hearts and our sanctuary to celebrate the lives of every animal who has touched us — those who now run free across the Rainbow Bridge.

This includes all the beloved pets of our amazing volunteers, generous donors, and dedicated sponsors. Together, we’ll share joyful memories, laughter, and a few happy tears in a gentle, beautiful celebration of the love that never fades.

For just $10 per photo, honor your special friend by having their picture proudly displayed in our Memorial Barn for the day! You can include as many furry, feathered, scaled, or hooman loved ones as you’d like in a single
photo. Submit as many photos as you wish — $10 each, or get 15 for $100.

How to participate:
Email your ready-to-print photo (JPG, PNG, TIFF, or PDF — we can not edit) to Events@RikkisRefuge.org
Mail a printed photo to: Rikki’s Refuge, PO Box 1357, Orange, VA 22960
Or simply bring your printed photo(s) and payment with you on the day of the event!

Thursday, May 21st (mail early, it can be slow!)

Details: Rikki’s Refuge Animal Sanctuary, 21410 Constitution Highway, Rapidan, Virginia at the corner of Quarter Horse Ln & Rt 20. Look for the Rainbow Fence & open gate.

Please dress for the weather and farm conditions – it’s all outdoors. No indoor facilities; just well-maintained porta-potty by the barn close to parking.

We love animals! To keep ours & yours safe, we can not allow yours on the Refuge grounds or left in your vehicle, no matter the situation, it’s too dangerous for any non-resident animals to be on the property.

Everyone must complete & sign a liability release form. Legal parent/guardian must sign for all minor children. You cannot sign for your friend’s or relative’s children. Forms will be available at Refuge or ask in advance by emailing Events@RikkisRefuge.org
