Sewing projects

We would love a few Rikki's Refuge banners to use at adoption days and information tables. Anybody want to take on the task? If you do, email Kerry to let her know your plans.

We could also use simple crate comforters, something soft and washable that could be put into carriers whenever we have to take the animals to the vet or keep them in crates. Think washable, bleachable, soft for the animals, and inexpensive. We have no problem with beds made from mismatched pieces of $1.00/yard fabric remnants.

Help us get ready for summer heat by making a few kool pads for our dogs and cats. Very useful when going to vet, in the hospital and to keep the outdoor animals cool.

Easy cat or small dog bed with tutorial and photos. Image heavy, so give it a few seconds to load up. (You know we would love some of these, right? Maybe you could give us your "practice" versions, our cats aren't fussy).

Easy bed for medium-large dogs. Instructions and photo. Bandito and his gang might like some of these -- or make smaller sizes for the cats.

Resizeable jacket for small dogs (or cats). We don't get many small dogs at Rikki's, but if you can figure out how to take the pattern and turn them into adoption vests for 50-70 pound dogs we would love to have some.

Wonderful, warm snugglies for cavys and other pocket pets. If you can modify the pattern and make it big enough for cats we would love some of these.

Sewing patterns for pets

Butterick, Vogue, McCalls and Simplicity l have pet patterns -- everything from beds to coats to kennel covers. Want to buy them cheap? Joann's often has 1.99 cent pattern days and there are tons on ebay (just watch those shipping charges)

Have you found free patterns on the web that need posting? Send us the link.
