It’s National Pig Day today !!!!
Of course, every day is Love a Pig day at Rikki’s Refuge!!!
We love ’em all … big ones, small ones, pink ones, black ones !!!!

This is Salimae and SHE many a long year ago. Salimae was the very first piggy to come to Rikki’s Refuge. Somebody won her in a catch the greased piglet contest …. they were supposed to take her home, watch her grow for 6 months or so …. and then do horrible things to her and eat her ……. That is so terribly gross.

Instead Salimae came to Rikki’s and spent her natural life there happy in Piggy Paradise making new friends who’s lives were saved.

Please, won’t you spend National Pig Day being kind to pigs ….. make a conscious effort not to eat them today. Think before you eat …. it will soften your heart and make you a kinder more compassionate individual !!
